Frequently asked questions
1. How do I order a repeat prescription:
There are several ways that you can request a repeat prescription. This can be done in person at the reception desk
at any of our sites. We will also accept faxed or posted requests. Please
complete the request form on the right hand side of your prescription to do
this. Patients who are registered with the Practice
online services website can make requests on line. Please allow at least
24 hours when requesting repeat prescriptions.
2. How do I book an appointment:
Appointments can be made either in person or by
telephoning the Practice. When making an appointment please state whether
you wish to see a Doctor or Nurse.
Appointments can also be made via our Website.
We also offer a daily telephone triage service
that allows the patient to speak to a clinician for advice and to access
appointments where appropriate.
3. How do I cancel an appointment:
If you have made an appointment that you no longer require we would ask that you
either call in to the Practice or phone us to cancel. This allows us to improve
our access for other patients. Unfortunately one of the biggest hindrances to
improving access is the amount of wasted appointments where patients fail to
turn up. The practice currently has in excess of 400 wasted appointments
per month. This is the equivalent of a whole month's worth of appointments for
a full time GP AND a full time nurse.
Text message appointment reminders.
We have recently introduced text message reminders for appointments. If we
have your mobile phone number you
will receive a text message the day before
your appointment, if you wish to cancel the appointment following the reminder
you can reply to the text and we will open this appointment for someone else to
use. If you do not wish to receive text message reminders contact the Practice
to opt-out of this service.
