Sexual Health Screening
The Sexual Health Nurse may screen for:
HIV, Syphillis, Hepatitis B and C - Blood tests
Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea - these can be tested for either by a urine sample, endocervical
/ urethral swab or a ‘self taken’ vaginal swab.
Trichamonas, Bacterial Vaginosis, Candida (thrush) - These are taken
from a high vaginal swab. These are not sexually transmitted diseases
but there may be symptoms present.
We also offer contraceptive advice, free condoms and emergency
contraception. Registered patients and students attending the University of
Liverpool can get access to all these services
at our sexual health drop-in every day except Wednesdays at our
Student Health site between 12 noon and 2pm.
