Vaccinations  Information

We are now able to provide occupational Hepatitis B vaccinations.  Please arrange an appointment with the Practice Nurse if you require this service.  Click here for more information

Childhood immunisations are provided at the Practice during District Nurse Sessions.  For more information on Childhood immunisations please click here.

The Nurses within the Practice provide information and vaccinations prior to travelling abroad.  you should book a double appointment for your initial consultation to discuss your planned journey at least two months prior to travel.  A history of previous vaccinations would be helpful.  The Practice provides vaccinations relevant for specific areas and these are:

• Hepatitis A - 2 doses 6-12 months - 10 years cover

• Typhoid - 1 dose - 3 years cover

• Meningitis

• Rabies - available on private prescription

• Tetanus, Polio and diphtheria - if primary immunisations were not completed.

These are free of charge

We also provide information regarding malaria prophylaxis and mosquito avoidance.

The Nurse will advise you on the recommended treatment for your planned stay abroad and advise you regarding whether the medication can be bought via the chemist or a private prescription will be required.  Mefloguine and Malarone require a private prescription where the pharmacist will charge a fee.  we do not charge you for issuing a private prescription.

We do not provide:

• Yellow fever

• Japanese encephalitis

• Hepatitis B
